I’m back!
Anyone who follows my blog and social media accounts will know I have been travelling for the past 7 weeks. The plan was to have my Sri Lanka series all written up to keep things ticking over on Quirky Little Planet but Blogger FAIL – I was so busy organising the house for my friend to come and cat/house sit and organising bits and pieces (visas and suchlike) for while I was away, that unfortunately the blog got sidelined and I failed to finish my Sri Lanka posts.
Oops.
I’m a bit delayed writing this post too, but you’ll have to let me off because more or less as soon as I got on home turf I got ill… probably didn’t help that I took 3 flights totalling about 25 hours in the space of a week and what with all those germs floating around in aeroplanes, the inevitable happened.
On the plus side I have returned with heaps of new experiences and blog post ideas! I drank Singapore Slings at The Raffles Hotel in Singapore, got a quokka selfie on Rottnest Island in Western Australia, saw my Aussie family in Melbourne, watched the sun set and rise over Uluru, got cosy with kangaroos, snakes and lizards in Alice Springs, paid homage to the legendary Steve Irwin in Queensland, road tripped through New Zealand where I faced my fears black water rafting, saw wild seal pups frolicking in a waterfall and brought out my inner action girl. I drank from coconuts and lazed around in hammocks in Fiji, crossed the International Date Line and had the same day twice AND I soaked up the weird and wonderful Hollywood where I got to sit on the set of Central Perk from Friends!
I can’t believe it’s all over but I look forward to reliving the memories on this blog and I hope you enjoy reading them.
